The department of community medicine is fully equipped with models and specimens and students are given ample opportunities for hands on training of community health care. Various field trips and surveys are routinely organized. The department works with the vision to equip the medical students with firsthand knowledge of community health problem prevalent in the society and to train them in problem solving, research, communication skills, and leadership. The teaching philosophy of the department is based on adult teaching principles with interactive learning strategies. Our core principles are helping individual students develop their maximum professional potential as well as develop critical thinking skills for advancement of new scientific discoveries.
The department is headed by highly qualified and experienced Professor Dr. Noreen Rahat Hashmi. She has extensive work experience both nationally and internationally, and is actively involved in research projects. She has to her credit 19 research articles published in local as well as international journals.
